CAMARILLO, CA - The Lucix Corporation today announced that it has been awarded a contract to build Ka Band Downconverters for the MUOS satellite by Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (LMCSS) in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
The Downconverter translates the input 30 GHz signal using an internal 28 GHz low-noise, high-stability reference. The converter includes an internal prime space bus power supply and multiple stages of RF gain, mixing and filtering to generate a clean and stable output 2 GHz signal.
About The MUOS Program --The Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) will be a network of DOD-controlled satellites and associated ground facilities providing worldwide communication services to mobile and fixed site users. It will provide global SATCOM narrowband (64kpbs and below) connectivity for voice, video and data for US and Allied services. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor, and is teamed with General Dynamics C4 Systems, Harris Corp. and Boeing Satellite Systems.
